Raouf Nader Rekik

Dr. Raouf Nader Rekik is a sports physician at Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Doha, Qatar, where he has worked in the National Sport Medicine Programme (NSMP) since 2012. His work involves providing sports-medicine services to clubs and national federations and supporting athlete health and injury prevention.

He holds a PhD in Physical Activity and Sport Science, a postgraduate diploma in Sports Medicine from the International Olympic Committee, and the FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine. He also holds professional master's degrees in occupational health and safety and emergency medicine and disaster management.

Before joining Aspetar, he served for six years as the team physician for the Tunisian national tennis team and worked with football, volleyball and athletics clubs. His clinical and research interests include sports-injury prevention, football injuries, ACL injuries, muscle and groin injuries, musculoskeletal ultrasound and anti-doping.

He has provided medical coverage at major international sporting events, including the FIFA World Cup 2022, AFC Asian Cup 2023, FIFA Club World Cup 2019 and IAAF World Championships 2019.
