Prof. Khalid Al-Rasadi, BSc, MD, FRCPC, ABCL is an Omani physician-scientist and Professor of Medical Biochemistry and Lipidology at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Muscat, Oman. His principal expertise is in lipid and lipoprotein disorders, familial hypercholesterolemia, dyslipidemia and cardiovascular disease prevention.
During his time in Canada, he worked as a scientist at Royal Victoria Hospital, McGill University, under Prof. Jacques Genest, conducting research into the molecular genetics of familial hypercholesterolemia and hypoalphalipoproteinemia. He also received clinical training in lipidology at the Royal Victoria Hospital lipid clinic.
Prof. Al-Rasadi has held several senior positions at Sultan Qaboos University. He served as Head of the Biochemistry Department from 2013–2019 and has served as Director of the Medical Research Center since 2019. He is also associated with the Lipid and LDL-Apheresis Unit at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital.
He is currently listed by SQU as a Professor in the Biochemistry Department, with his field of interest identified as lipid and lipoprotein disorders.

He has led major national and regional research initiatives, including the Gulf Familial Hypercholesterolemia Study and the Oman FH Cascade Screening Study.

Prof. Al-Rasadi is a founding member and President of the Oman Society for Lipid and Atherosclerosis (OSLA). He also serves on the Board of Directors of the International Atherosclerosis Society (IAS).
He is regularly invited as a speaker and faculty member at international conferences covering lipidology, diabetes, cardiovascular prevention and atherosclerosis.
