Prof. Dave Collins

Professorial Fellow at the University of Edinburgh, Professor of Elite Performance at Dublin City University and Director at Grey Matters Performance Ltd. Dave is an accredited practitioner with the HCPC, a Chartered Psychologist, Applied Psychology Supervisor and Scientist, and accredited in High Performance Sport Support. As an academic, he has over 450 peer review publications and 90 books/chapters. As a practitioner, he has worked with over 90 World or Olympic medallists plus professional teams and performers, including 10-year terms with the Chelsea FC Academy, SnowSports New Zealand, Short Track Speed Skating and GB Weightlifting. Dave has acted as a Team Leader and Team Manager at international events, including (so far!) 13 Olympics and over 50 World Championships. He has also worked as a business and organisational adviser in various fields.

Participant-wise, Dave was excessively average at rugby, American football, martial arts and adventure sports. Dave has coached to national level in three sports, is a 5^th Dan Karate, Director of the Rugby Coaches Association, Fellow of the Society of Martial Arts and BASES, Associate Fellow of the BPS and an ex Royal Marine.
