Dr. Loiy Alkhatib, MD is a German Board-certified Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon based in Dubai, UAE. He specializes in sports medicine, shoulder and elbow surgery, upper-limb reconstruction, knee surgery, arthroscopy and orthopaedic trauma. He currently serves as Head of the Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Department at Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital, Dubai.
Dr. Alkhatib graduated from Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) in 2009. He subsequently completed specialist training in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery in Germany, earning the German Board (Facharzt) in Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery. He also holds European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EBOT) certification.

Before moving to the UAE, Dr. Alkhatib worked in Germany as an Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery Consultant/Oberarzt, including at Klinikum Bad Hersfeld. His German experience provided extensive exposure to trauma surgery and complex orthopaedic cases.
He subsequently developed his practice in the UAE and is currently a Consultant Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Surgeon and Head of the Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Department at Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital, Dubai Healthcare City.

Dr. Alkhatib has contributed to peer-reviewed orthopaedic research. His publications include research on rotator cuff repair and acromioplasty, conducted during his affiliation with the Pan Am Clinic/University of Manitoba.
He was also a co-author of a 2026 meta-analysis on surgical incision techniques in total knee arthroplasty, published in The Knee. His affiliation in the publication is Dr. Suleiman AlHabib Hospital Dubai Healthcare City.
Dr. Alkhatib is active in postgraduate orthopaedic education and has served as an AO instructor. He also participates as faculty and session chair at international orthopaedic meetings.
