King Abdulaziz University, Mafasel Clinics
Dr. Husam Hussain Darwish is an orthopedic surgeon based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with academic and clinical affiliations at King Abdulaziz University and Mafasel Clinics. He is identified by the Fujairah International Orthopedic Congress as an Assistant Professor and Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at King Abdulaziz University, and other orthopedic congress materials identify him as a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at Mafasel Clinics in Jeddah.
Dr. Darwish received his medical degree from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah in 2000. He subsequently trained in orthopedic surgery in Canada, including at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine, and completed a Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic Fellowship at Duke University Hospital in 2008–2009. His professional interests include foot and ankle surgery, orthopedic trauma, joint reconstruction, and sports-related orthopedic conditions.
His academic work includes research on orthopedic trauma and foot-and-ankle surgery. Among his publications are studies on syndesmotic fixation and ACL reconstruction, reflecting his involvement in both clinical research and orthopedic surgical practice.
He is also involved in international orthopedic education. In 2026, the AO Foundation's Foot and Ankle Education Task Force lists Husam Hussain Darwish as one of its International Program Editors, with a 2026–2028 term. This is particularly relevant to his foot-and-ankle specialization and represents a stronger achievement to include than simply listing conference appearances.
For FIOC, Dr. Darwish was featured as a speaker at the 2nd EHS International Orthopedics Congress in January 2025, and he is again listed as a Speaker / Lead Faculty for the 4th EHS International Orthopedic Congress (FIOC) scheduled for January 2027.
