Farah Naja

Dr Farah Naja is a professor in Nutrition Epidemiology, at the University of Sharjah. She earned her doctoral degree from University of Toronto, Canada. Winner of the 2023 Abdul Hameed Shoman Award, Dr Naja is leading an active research portfolio, with over 150 publications.

Her research focus is to explore innovative approaches to study dietary intake, with a focus on the Mediterranean diet, its health, and environmental impacts. Together with her team, she has launched the first mother and child nutrition cohort in the Middle East in Lebanon (MINA) in Qatar and Lebanon. In addition, Dr Naja holds an active portfolio in Complementary and Alternative Medicine research, its safe and effective use.
