Dr. Naji Jameel Aljohani, MD, FACE is a Saudi Consultant and Assistant Professor of Endocrinology, specializing in diabetes, endocrinology, metabolism, thyroid diseases, and thyroid oncology. He is based at King Fahad Medical City (KFMC), Riyadh, within the Obesity, Endocrine and Metabolism Center.

Dr. Aljohani has an extensive research record. His ResearchGate profile currently lists 127 publications and more than 3,000 citations, with research interests including metabolism and glucose metabolism.
One of his notable research areas has been metabolic syndrome in Saudi Arabia. He was the author of a nationwide epidemiological study involving 4,578 Saudi participants aged 15–64 from 20 regions of the Kingdom, examining the prevalence and risk factors associated with metabolic syndrome.
He has also contributed to research concerning gestational diabetes, including a study investigating factors associated with the development of diabetes among pregnant Arab women with gestational diabetes.
Another important area of his research is diabetes health literacy and glycemic control. In a Saudi Medical Journal study, he and colleagues examined health literacy among Saudi adults with type 2 diabetes and its relationship with clinical factors.
More recently, he has contributed to research on diabetes awareness, lifestyle changes and diabetes management in Saudi Arabia, including studies examining the effects of COVID-19 lockdowns on people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
Dr. Aljohani has also participated in national diabetes initiatives. He was among the specialists involved in workshops contributing to the Saudi Diabetes Clinical Practice Guidelines, representing King Fahad Medical City, Riyadh.
He has additionally participated in regional endocrinology and diabetes scientific meetings, including the Gulf Association of Endocrinology and Diabetes Clinical Congress.
