The study, conducted in the NICU at KFAFH, compared non-invasive blood pressure with invasive arterial measurements and found that non-invasive measurements could overestimate blood pressure, highlighting the importance of accurate hemodynamic assessment in very-low-birth-weight infants. Dr. Abuzaid was one of the study's authors.
His academic interests also include postnatal growth and retinopathy of prematurity, neonatal brain injury, intraventricular hemorrhage, and neonatal intensive-care outcomes. His current professional profile lists publications and research involving postnatal weight gain and severe ROP, ventricular access devices for posthemorrhagic ventricular dilatation, and structured brain-care bundles for preventing severe germinal-matrix/intraventricular hemorrhage in very preterm neonates.
Dr. Abuzaid is a member of the Saudi Neonatal Society, with his membership recorded in the Society's official membership documentation.
