Dr. Lubna M. Alhourani, MD is a Staff Physician in Pulmonary Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, within the Integrated Hospital Care Institute. She specializes in pulmonary and sleep medicine, with particular expertise in sleep-related breathing disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea, snoring, insomnia, daytime sleepiness, and other sleep disorders.
Dr. Alhourani earned her medical degree from the University of Jordan School of Medicine in Amman, Jordan. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Florida from 2009–2012, followed by a Sleep Medicine Fellowship at the University of Florida in 2012–2013.
Before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, she spent approximately eight years at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where she served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in Sleep Medicine from 2014 to 2022. Her academic work included clinical care and education in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine.
Her current clinical work includes the evaluation and management of sleep apnea, insomnia, snoring, restless leg syndrome, daytime sleepiness, and narcolepsy. She has also contributed to research on sleep-disordered breathing; in 2025, she co-authored a study examining factors associated with obstructive sleep apnea among young, non-obese Middle Eastern adults.
