Dr. Jacques Ravel

Dr. Ravel is the Director of the Center for Advanced Microbiome Research and Innovation at the Institute for Genome Sciences, and John L. Whitehurst Professor of Medicine, and Microbiology & Immunology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

For more than 20 years, he has pioneered research applying genomic and ecological principles to elucidate the role and dynamics of the vaginal microbiome in women’s health and develop strategies for managing gynecological and obstetric conditions.
