Dr. Hamad Burashed is a Kuwaiti dental specialist with dual training in orthodontics and prosthodontics. He is currently affiliated with the Faculty of Dentistry at Kuwait University, where the university's 2025–2026 Faculty of Dentistry handbook lists him as an Assistant Professor, holding the qualifications DMD, MMSc, Diplomate ABO.
Dr. Burashed was born in Kuwait and grew up between Kuwait City and the New York City area before moving to Boston for his dental education. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He subsequently completed advanced postgraduate training in prosthodontics at Harvard University, where he also obtained a Master of Medical Science (MMSc).
During his postgraduate training, Dr. Burashed was also involved with the Cleft Lip and Palate Program at Boston Children's Hospital, serving as a research fellow. His research work included investigation of presurgical orthopedic treatment in patients with cleft lip and palate. In 2016, he received a National Student Research Forum (NSRF) Award for Research Excellence for research conducted with specialists at Boston Children's Hospital.
He later completed advanced training in orthodontics at St. Barnabas Hospital in New York, developing expertise in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment, dentofacial orthopedics and complex interdisciplinary dental care. His professional training makes him unusual in having specialist-level training in both prosthodontics and orthodontics.
Dr. Burashed is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO). His professional profile records his orthodontic board certification as having been issued in January 2021.
Dr. Burashed has published research in orthodontics and dentofacial treatment. His publications include research examining the effectiveness of clear aligner attachments for deep-bite correction and a study evaluating changes in the vertical facial dimension following orthodontic treatment with different premolar-extraction patterns.

NSRF Award for Research Excellence — 2016: Dr. Burashed received a research excellence award for work investigating whether presurgical orthopedic appliances increase telecanthus in patients with bilateral cleft lip and palate. The project was conducted with researchers from Boston Children's Hospital.
