Dr. Francesco Della Villa

Dr. Francesco Della Villa is an Italian Sports and Exercise Medicine physician and researcher specializing particularly in sports injuries, football medicine, ACL injuries, biomechanics, injury prevention, and return-to-play strategies. He is currently the Scientific Director of Isokinetic Medical Group, FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence, and has served as Director of its Education and Research Department since 2021. In this role, he oversees the group's research, scientific activities, education, professional development, and training programs.

Dr. Della Villa studied Medicine and Surgery at the University of Bologna, graduating in 2013, and subsequently completed postgraduate training in Sports and Exercise Medicine at the University of Bologna. In 2018, he completed a clinical and research fellowship in Sports Medicine and biomechanics at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, following earlier international clinical experiences in the United States, United Kingdom, and New Zealand.

His scientific work is strongly focused on ACL and football-related injuries, particularly injury mechanisms, biomechanics, prevention, rehabilitation, and return to sport.
