Dr. Aravinthan is a highly experienced, UK-trained Consultant Psychiatrist with over 23 years of experience in the field, specialising in adult psychiatry and rehabilitation. A trusted clinician, he previously served as a Consultant and Clinical Lead for General Adult Psychiatry at NHS Tayside, Scotland, where he led multidisciplinary teams and spearheaded improvements in patient care. He has worked in a variety of settings in UK such as community psychiatric teams, assertive outreach teams, acute inpatient unit and long term rehabilitation units.
Dr Aravinthan has been practicing in UAE for many years and has extensive experience in treating people from various cultural and social backgrounds. He helps people to recover from their psychological difficulties after assessing thoroughly and using medication intervention. He has good understanding about wider psychotherapy models and likes to work closely with psychologists. His practice is person-centred and collaborative.
Dr Aravinthan served as an expert panel psychiatrist for the Scottish Mental Health Tribunal Services, attending and providing expert testimony at numerous hearings across Scotland.
His special interests include anxiety disorders, mood disorders, PTSD, ADHD, and psychopharmacology.
