Dr. Anwar Ahmad

Dr. Anwar Ahmad is a pediatric neurosurgeon whose career has included clinical work across Pakistan, Ghana, the United Kingdom and the UAE. He graduated from Dow Medical College and initially trained in surgery at Aga Khan University Hospital. Early in his career, he worked in Northern Pakistan as a general surgeon in a rural 30-bed facility, where his work contributed to reductions in maternal and infant mortality. He subsequently led a 70-bed missionary hospital in Ghana, where he managed high patient volumes and performed more than 500 procedures in a single year.

In 1996, he moved to the United Kingdom and retrained in neurosurgery, completing advanced training and a fellowship in pediatric and spinal neurosurgery at institutions including King's College London and Oxford. Since 2008, he has worked as a consultant neurosurgeon with a focus on pediatric neurosurgery. He joined Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi in 2014 and in 2022 established the pediatric neurosurgery service at Al Jalila Children's Hospital in Dubai. He is also active in international teaching and education.
