Dr. Aneela Darbar is a senior consultant neurosurgeon at King's College Hospital Dubai and a U.S. board-certified neurosurgeon with more than 15 years of experience in complex brain and spinal disorders. Her clinical specialties include skull-base surgery, endoscopic surgery and minimally invasive neurosurgical techniques.
She received her medical degree from Dow University of Health Sciences in Pakistan and completed residency training at SUNY Syracuse. She subsequently completed fellowships in minimally invasive cranial surgery in Sydney, Australia and skull-base surgery at St. Louis University in Missouri. Before moving to Dubai, she held academic roles at St. Louis University and Aga Khan University Karachi, where she also served as Program Director for neurosurgery training. She later served as Medical Director and Consultant Neurosurgeon at Mukhtar A. Sheikh Hospital in Multan and continues to provide pro-bono surgical care in Pakistan.
Dr. Darbar is also a strong advocate for women in neurosurgery. She founded Women in Neurosurgery Pakistan and currently serves as Vice-Chair of WIN for the Asian Congress of Neurosurgeons.
