Dr. Andy Massey

Dr. Andy Massey is a sports and exercise medicine physician and the Medical Director of FIFA, where he leads FIFA Medical's work on the health and wellbeing of football participants worldwide. He also serves as Chair of the FIFA Medical Committee.

Before joining FIFA, he was Head of Medical Services at Liverpool FC, having initially joined the club as Academy Doctor and match-day medical coordinator before becoming First Team Doctor. Earlier in his career, he served as the National Team Doctor for the Irish Football Association.

His educational background combines physiotherapy, medicine and sports medicine. His qualifications include BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, MSc Sports Physiotherapy, MSc Sports Medicine, MSc Medical Ultrasound, MSc Sports Physiotherapy, MRCGP, FFSEM (UK), FFSEM (Ireland), and FFMLM.

His current work focuses on football medicine, injury and illness prevention, concussion and brain health, tournament medical services, player health surveillance, and global medical standards in football.
