Dr. Ahmad A. Alanezi is a Saudi Consultant Pediatric Neurologist and Epileptologist and an academic physician specializing in pediatric neurology, epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology. He is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and has been affiliated academically with Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU) in Riyadh. His professional activities also include clinical and academic work with King Saud University and participation in the Saudi Pediatric Neurology Society (SPNS).
Dr. Alanezi completed his medical degree at Qassim University in Saudi Arabia, graduating in 2009. He subsequently completed his medical internship in Riyadh before entering postgraduate pediatric training.
He completed his Saudi Board in Pediatrics through the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, following his pediatric residency at King Abdulaziz Medical City, Riyadh. His pediatric residency training ran from 2010 to 2014.
He then pursued advanced specialist training in Canada at Western University in London, Ontario, completing a Pediatric Neurology Clinical Fellowship from 2016 to 2018. Following this, he completed a dedicated Pediatric Epilepsy and Electroencephalography Fellowship from 2018 to 2019 at Western University.
His subspecialty training was complemented by a Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists (CSCN) Diplomate qualification in Electroencephalography, obtained in June 2019.

His combination of pediatric neurology and dedicated epilepsy/EEG fellowship training has given him specialized expertise in the diagnosis and management of childhood epilepsy and other neurological disorders.
Dr. Alanezi has developed an academic career in pediatric medicine and neurology. His CV identifies him as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, a position he has held since 2010.
Saudi Pediatric Neurology Society profiles have subsequently identified him as an Assistant Professor and Consultant Pediatric Neurologist and Epileptologist. SPNS conference materials have also associated him with the pediatric neurology academic community at King Saud University in Riyadh.
One of Dr. Alanezi's most significant professional achievements was serving as Chairman of the 9th Saudi Pediatric Neurology Society Conference, held in Riyadh in November 2024.
The official SPNS conference page lists him as the Chairman of the Congress, while the scientific committee listing identifies him as a Consultant Pediatric Neurologist and Epileptologist. The conference brought together specialists in pediatric epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, neuroinflammatory disease, genetic and metabolic disorders, autism, movement disorders and other areas of pediatric neurology.

Dr. Alanezi has contributed to research in pediatric neurology and epilepsy as well as broader neurological health issues affecting children in Saudi Arabia.
Among his recent publications is a 2025 BMC Public Health study on vaccine hesitancy among legal guardians of children with chronic neurological disorders in Saudi Arabia. He was listed as a co-author and affiliated as a Consultant Pediatric Neurologist and Epileptologist. The study examined vaccine-related attitudes among families caring for children with chronic neurological conditions.
He also contributed to the study “Childhood Idiopathic Epilepsy in Saudi Arabia From 1990–2019: Analysis of the Global Burden of Disease Data, 2019,” published in Cureus in 2024. The research examined the epidemiology and burden of childhood idiopathic epilepsy in Saudi Arabia using Global Burden of Disease data.
In 2026, Dr. Alanezi was also listed as a co-author of “The Top 50 Cited Articles in Pediatric Neurology: A Bibliometric Analysis,” published in Neurosciences (Riyadh). The study analyzed influential publications in pediatric neurology and identified major research trends within the specialty.
Dr. Alanezi has also participated in Saudi pediatric rare-disease initiatives. He was listed on the Scientific Committee of the 4th Saudi Rare Disease Summit, contributing his pediatric neurology and epilepsy expertise to a multidisciplinary program focused on rare diseases.
His participation in SPNS rare-disease activities reflects his broader involvement in advancing awareness, diagnosis and management of complex neurological disorders affecting children.
