Dr. AlAwadhi earned her MBBS from United Arab Emirates University College of Medicine and Health Sciences in 2012. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Saint Vincent Hospital, affiliated with the University of Massachusetts, in 2016, followed by a fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center, University of Texas, completed in 2019. She is American Board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology.
She serves as Scientific Chairperson of the Emirates Oncology Society and Chairperson of its Breast Cancer Working Group. She is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at the UAE University College of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Her professional memberships and activities include the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the Ministry of Health Breast Cancer Taskforce, and participation in the NCCN Breast Cancer Guidelines – MENA region. She was also recognized as Women in Oncology of the Year (2022) by the Emirates Oncology Society.
Dr. AlAwadhi has an extensive breast-cancer research and speaking record. Her published work includes research on breast cancer in pregnancy, PIK3CA mutations in hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer, HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer, and somatic mutations in Arab women with breast cancer.
In 2026, she co-authored an editorial on MRI-guided de-escalation in HER2-positive early breast cancer, affiliated with SSMC's Hematology & Medical Oncology Division and UAE University.
She is an established regional breast-cancer speaker. For example, at the Regional Breast Cancer Education Forum 2024, she was listed as a Consultant Medical Oncologist at Tawam Hospital and EOS Scientific Committee Chairperson, and presented on treatment algorithms for HER2-positive breast cancer.
She was also a speaker at the 2nd Emirates International Thoracic Surgery Congress 2026, where her biography lists her current SSMC leadership roles and breast-cancer leadership within the Emirates Oncology Society.
