This course provides a comprehensive education on the fundamental principles and current concepts in the treatment of fractures. The curriculum is designed to equip participants with the knowledge to plan treatments based on thorough assessment, imaging, and classification. The format includes evidence-based lectures, an engaging AO Skills Lab for hands-on learning of surgical techniques, practical exercises for applying fixation methods, and small group case discussions to refine decision-making skills. An online pre-course self-assessment allows faculty to tailor the content to participant needs, ensuring a focused and effective learning experience in operative fracture management.

Discuss the concepts of stability, their influence on bone healing, and how to apply implants to achieve appropriate stability
Plan a treatment based on assessment, imaging, classification, and decision-making
Apply reduction techniques in fracture management with attention to the importance of the soft tissue

  • Soft Tissue Management

    Techniques for respecting and preserving the soft tissue envelope during surgical intervention.
