The 5th MS Updated Forum is organized by the Specialized Medical Centers in collaboration with the Egyptian Society of Multiple Sclerosis. The gathering brings together neurologists, neuro-immunologists, MS specialists, and clinical researchers to discuss updated diagnostic criteria, disease-modifying therapies, neuro-rehabilitation protocols, and holistic management paradigms for multiple sclerosis and demyelinating central nervous system disorders.
The 5th MS Updated Forum represents a specialized national medical congress dedicated to advancing clinical care, translational neuro-immunology, and therapeutic management strategies for multiple sclerosis (MS). Organized by the Secretariat of Specialized Medical Centers in scientific collaboration with the Egyptian Society of Multiple Sclerosis and Pure Spot Events Management, this three-day forum takes place from January 13 to January 15 at the Gewan Hotel in Cairo, Egypt. Serving as a key platform for multi-center scientific collaboration across Egypt, the event convenes academic leaders, consultant neurologists, MS clinic directors, neuro-radiologists, and allied health professionals to examine evolving standard-of-care guidelines and therapeutic innovations. The comprehensive scientific curriculum offers an intensive, multi-disciplinary learning experience designed to bridge research findings with real-world clinical application. Core thematic sessions explore early diagnostic biomarkers, updated McDonald criteria interpretations, advanced neuroimaging modalities, and differential diagnosis between classic MS, Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder (NMOSD), and MOG antibody-associated disease (MOGAD). In addition, dedicated clinical tracks analyze high-efficacy disease-modifying therapies (DMTs), personalized treatment selection algorithms, relapse management protocols, and long-term neuroprotection strategies. Beyond pharmacological disease management, the 5th MS Updated Forum emphasizes comprehensive patient-centered care and functional rehabilitation. Expert panel discussions and case-based workshops focus on symptomatic treatments for spasticity, fatigue, cognitive impairment, and neurogenic bladder dysfunction, as well as multidisciplinary neuro-rehabilitation programs. By facilitating scientific dialogue, sharing inter-center clinical registries, and highlighting emerging research, the forum reinforces clinical standards, empowers healthcare teams, and enhances the overall quality of life for individuals living with multiple sclerosis across the country.
